LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER; NEW FACULTY AT ST. BERNARD SCHOOL

It is the first day of school today for Mrs. Deborah Grout as she begins her 12th year as a teacher at St. Bernard School. This year she will be seeing her daughter in the halls but not as a student. Mrs. Grout’s daughter, Miss Sydney Grout, is beginning the school year as a fellow faculty member as she takes her new position as the 3rd grade teacher. Miss Grout is graduate of Castleton State College in Vermont and is not only excited to be joining St. Bernard School as a new faculty member but also as an alumna. Miss Grout says she “… came back to teach at SBS because I like the environment at the school. Academics are very important and everyone strives to have the students do well. Even though kids are challenged to do their best, there is still fun and the faculty really works well together to help make it a fun and structured environment for everyone.”

Mrs. Grout speaks with great enthusiasm about her daughters return; “I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of my daughter. Children are one of the greatest gifts God can give us. Lucky for me I was blessed twice in this department. Both of my children attended SBS from kindergarten through eighth grade and the foundation that they were given has helped them grow into loving, caring adults. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to watch my daughter shine on a daily basis as she fulfills her ministry.”
