Beginning March 31, you can pop into your neighborhood McDonald's and score a small cup of coffee — for free!

There are no strings attached, the company says — meaning no purchase necessary to get one of its Premium Roast McCafe coffees. You do have to grab one during breakfast hours, though, which are from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The deal, dubbed "Make Friends with McCafe," is in effect for two weeks, through April 13.

To drive home just how much coffee they are offering up, McDonald's shared this anecdote:

"If everyone from Fairfield Country, Connecticut were to claim their free McDonald’s coffee that would be approximately 939,904 cups, according to US Census data."

Will you be grabbing some free coffee from McDonald's?

I posted this on my blog page on March 1st. I usually don't put it on a Patch page but I think eating in these greedy money making so-call fast food pigsty's turns my stomach. http://tyler306.blogspot.com/2014/03/vegetarian.html

Rob W. yes when it tastes better. Some of the diners I have eaten have the same pot of coffee at 4p.m. that was started at 7 am. Larry I take it you don't like anyplace that sells meat? (or at least supposed to be meat)

Well Larry, I read your blog and have some mixed feelings on the subject. First, the human body is not intended to be a herbivore (you can start by looking at your teeth which are intended to rip and eat meat). Having said that, I'm not sure the crap they sell in stores these days would constitute as "meat" and the slop they sell at fast food places is even worse. Your blogs references to your grandparents and parents ways to obtain meat is the school I come from. We eat a lot of venison and the chicken, pork and beef we eat are all farm raised and butchered by myself. I do all my own cutting and packaging as well as the processing. Yes, I do make my own hotdogs and other processed meats.

It's amazing how one obscure thread about free coffee brings out so many opposing views on everything but coffee..... Don't you people have lives? It's free coffee people not "Cosmos". Maybe you folks are drinking too much coffee..... or something!!
