A "Most Excellent" Move For Comic And Card Shop

Longtime hobby store has relocated a mile down the street.

A comic and collectibles store which has maintained a loyal customer base in Enfield for more than a decade has moved exactly one mile down the road.

Most Excellent Comics & Collectibles recently opened in its new location at 481 Enfield Street, in a building known to most town residents as the former Roller World site.

Owner Mason Allen, who originally operated the store for five years inside the Enfield Square before spending the last five years in the Freshwater Plaza on Route 5, cited two factors as the basis for the move.

"Every five years the lease goes up, and we've been growing year after year," Allen explained. "We've nearly tripled the play area and can stock more inventory. There is more gameplay for the kids."

The stores carries a large, updated selection of comic books and gaming cards, including Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh. "We have Magic tournaments every weekend, and we often see 75 kids here," Allen said.

There is plenty of free parking at the new site, which is adjacent to Whirlyball and the newly-opened Mouse Pad.

The store is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store phone is 860-741-0113.
