Disappointed In Coverage by Hartford Courant

Why has the Hartford Courant dropped Enfield?

Not sure if anyone else who subscribes to the Hartford Courant has noticed, but for the past 10 days there has not been one story from Enfield.  We've had a devastating fire, a budget hearing and criminal arrests and nothing in print in the Hartford Courant delivered conveniently to your door.

Today's Courant lists all of the "know your reporters" by town. Guess what? NO reporter listed for the largest town north of Hartford, ENFIELD.  NOBODY.

Guess we have either dropped off the Connecticut map and gone back to Massachusetts, or we are just not important enough like the Wethersfields, West Hartfords and Rocky Hills.

Thanks PATCH for giving US the latest news faster that before.  Time to save some dough and cancel my subscription.

The Courant is a shadow of it's former self. Unless you want to read about Hartford or Gov. Malloy, nothing to see there.....Patch is the choice if you want local up to the minute Enfield news.

Here's the messge I received from the Courant: Mr. Simons, Your e-mail to the Courant was forwarded to me. As you’re aware, we don’t have a reporter in Enfield at this time but we are hoping to move someone there soon. I can understand your frustration. I wish we had the finances to quickly replace reporters when they leave. But that’s not the case at this time. Thank you for your patience and interest in the Courant.
