Suffield On the Green Extends Sunday Hours to 6 O'Clock

Severe weather forced early shutdown on Saturday, prompting organizers to decide to run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Due to the sudden onset of severe weather at Suffield on the Green on Saturday, at approximately 12:40 p.m., the event was closed down early. Town and emergency service officials felt it was in the best safety interest of exhibitors and attendees, especially given that a tornado watch had been issued by the National Weather Service.

Because many attendees were disappointed with the weather, the Friends of Suffield organization is extending Sunday’s closing time by two hours to 6 p.m.

Suffield on the Green exhibitors and food vendors will be permitted (if they wish) to remain open until 6 p.m., rather than the original 4 p.m. closing time. The Craft Fair will still close at 4 o'clock, for traffic and safety concerns.
