Grab & Go Kid's Planner: Puzzles, Reptiles and the Easter Bunny

For the weekend of March 11-13

Here are some family-friendly activities to do this weekend to get some quality time into your week. We’d love to hear from you and your family if you attend the activities. As always, please let us know of anything fun coming up.

 1. Puzzle Contest

Where/When: Enfield Public Library, March 11, 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Stop in after school and work to complete a jigsaw puzzle with a team of other kids. Prizes will be awarded. Ages 6 and up.

Price: Free

2. Hooray for St. Patrick’s Day

Where/When: Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Enfield, March 11, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Try to find the hidden leprechaun while you watch the children in this lively book perform a play about Saint Patrick, make holiday crafts, taste Irish foods and march in a St. Patrick’s Day parade. Be sure to bring your camera.

Price: Free

3. Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly

Where/When: Springfield Science Museum, Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why Go: An interactive zoological exhibit that brings visitors eye-to-eye with living reptiles from all around the world. Explore common myths and gain new appreciation for these misunderstood creatures.

Price: $5 special exhibition fee for all visitors ages 3 and up in addition to museum admission

4.  Easter Bunny Breakfast

Where/When: Stanley Golf Course, New Britain, March 12, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Why Go: Come get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny and enjoy “inflatable amusements," face painting, clowns, caricatures and a free bucket of balls to be hit at the driving range.”  Amazing Andy will present a magic show at 10:30. Be sure to bring your camera.

Price: $5

5. Ferdinand the Bull

Where/When: Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, Storrs, March 13, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Why Go: In this musical adaptation of Munro Leaf’s beloved story about a positive way to say “no” to nonviolence, Childsplay integrates Spanish Flamenco dancing and original music to create a memorable theatrical experience that’s perfect for young audiences and their families.

Price: Adults $13, Children $11
