Boy Scout Troop 108 of Hazardville celebrates Scout Sunday in the company of family and friends at the Hazardville United Methodist Church, the proud sponsor of the troop.
This year Troop 108 is celebrating its 75th anniversary of continuous service to the young men through the Boy Scouts of America. Chartered on Jan. 27, 1938, Troop 108 has awarded the rank of Eagle Scout to 70 boys (and counting), and guided over 800 boys through the scouting program.
The first Troop 108 Eagle Scout was David N. Jellison in May 1952, and the most recent was Tyler Gorman on Jan. 25, 2013.
The Troop will be holding a celebratory banquet in May to honor and thank all those who have been involved with the scouting program in Troop 108 throughout its 75 years.
