Snow Removal Deadline Expires

Sidewalks and fire hydrants must be cleared before the town's deadline.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Enfield residents and business owners have less than 12 hours to remove snow, according to the town's snow-removal ordinance.

Enfield's snow and ice removal ordinance requires property owners remove snow from all property sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of a significant snowfall.

The ordinance also requires property owners clear snow from fire hydrants on the property.

The ordinance specifically stipulates snow exceeding four inches from the base of a fire hydrant must be removed by the property owner.

As of 4 p.m., nine hours remained for Enfield property owners to comply with the town's removal ordinance.
