Enfield Leaf Collection to Begin

The program will be completed by Nov. 30.

Looking forward to getting rid of all those leaves you’ve collected from your yard in recent weeks? Well, the town’s leaf collection program is right around the corner.


On Mon., Nov. 4, crews will begin to make their way around town for a four-week leaf-collection program.


According to the town, collection will follow the schedule below, according to your trash pickup schedule.

Monday Trash Pickup — Collection between Nov. 4-8

Wednesday Trash Pickup — Collection Nov. 18-22

Thursday Trash Pickup — Collection Nov. 25-29


Leaves will only be accepted in brown yard waste tippers and leaf bags. Barrels and leaves containing just leaves will be collected Monday through Thursday, while those with leaves, sticks and other yard waste will be collected on Friday. Bags and barrels containing anything other than leaves should only be placed curbside on Friday.


If residents have yard waste in excess of the town’s collection program, Enfield’s transfer station will be open for extended hours from Nov. 10-30, and leaves/waste can be disposed for free.


The transfer station is located at 100 Town Farm Road.


Yard waste bags are available for purchase for $1.70 a pack (each pack contains five bags) at the Enfield Department of Public Works, the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center, Enfield Senior Center, Transfer Station, Enfield Public Library and the Pearl Street Library.


Up to 40 brown bags can be placed curbside.
