Symetra’s Enfield Office Celebrates 'Week of Service'

Nearly 50 Symetra employees from the company’s Enfield office took a break from their workday last week to give back to the community — contributing 150 volunteer hours to six local nonprofit organizations as part of the fifth-annual Symetra Week of Service (June 24–28).

Team activities included pruning and weeding at the Elizabeth Park Conservancy, stocking shelves at Enfield Food Shelf, yardwork at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, office assistance for local chapters of the American Cancer Society and Multiple Sclerosis Society, and landscaping at Oak Hill’s group home.

“Symetra’s Week of Service has become a much-anticipated annual tradition that gives us a chance to connect with our colleagues and make a positive impact in the community through hands-on service,” said Tom Marra, Symetra president and CEO, who was among the Elizabeth Park Conservancy employee volunteers. “The Week of Service is a time to break from our work routines and join forces to help our nonprofit partners who do so much good in the community.”
