Pensions... We Pay Those

I have an issue with the amount of Police officers on the payroll in the Town of Enfield CT... I live in a nicer section of town off of abbe rd. I pay about $4300 a year in property tax. I can't drive to the supermarket across town without seeing 3 or 4 brand new cruisers on my way. Besides the normal bs that every town has to deal with, as well as a lower income section of town that seems to invite, and create problems. I can't see the need for that many officers of the law. I know that an officer of the law is on the lower end of a salary prospective around 40-50K a year but we have to think of the towns future. After a said amount of time we are paying out pensions on these retired officers that will ulitimetly sink the towns revenue. I for one do not see why the taxes are so high in the little town of enfield??? It makes no sense. I for one would like to see a break down of the towns expenses, as well as an initiative by the elected officials in town to make a change. Is that to much to ask? I mean this is our town and needs to be taken back.  To much wasted money in our town.
