Stafford Springs, CT- Johnson Memorial Medical Center (JMMC), the
parent company of Johnson Memorial Hospital (JMH), is accepting scholarship
applications for its Medical Staff Scholarship Program. Applications can be obtained by contacting

scholarships provide financial support to students pursuing studies in Health or Human Services related
fields. The Medical Staff began awarding
the scholarships in 2003 to local high school students. The program has since expanded to include
employees of JMMC, their children, both teen and adult volunteers as well as
previous recipients, from the past three years, as they continue to pursue
High school students may apply if they will graduate in 2014 and
reside in Ellington, Enfield, Somers, Stafford or Tolland. Those individuals that reside outside the
designated geographic area, but are a JMMC volunteer or who have a parent who
is employed by JMMC may also apply.
Students pursuing higher education in Health or Human
Services may apply if they are a JMMC employee, JMMC adult volunteer or were a
recipient of this award in the previous three years.
Scholarships will be awarded to a student in each category based on set criteria developed by the medical staff. The deadline for submitting applications is April 2, 2014.
JMMC is the
non-profit parent company of JMH, which is based in Stafford Springs with
outpatient departments in Enfield; Evergreen Health Care Center, which offers
long-term care and short-term rehabilitation and recovery; and Home
&Community Health Services, a home health and hospice care agency.
