Enfield Earth Day Celebration Set for April 24 Around Freshwater Pond
This year’s 5th annual Enfield Earth Day Celebration, sponsored by the Town of Enfield, will be bigger and better than ever. The event will be held on Thursday, April 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. around Freshwater Pond near the Angelo Lamagna Center.
A variety of “green” related activities, including a compost demonstration conducted by Home Depot; distribution tomato plants and marigolds; information about energy saving products and services; crafts and a recycling display produced by Enfield High School students.
Also featured will be activities for children such as face painting and crafts. Farmer Rick, from Shaker Farm Market, will be on hand with a goat, lamb and rabbits to provide information on how to care for the animals. Farmer Rick will also be singing some of his favorite tunes.

DJ Tim Jensen will provide music. Savings Institute Bank and Trust is giving out free popcorn, the Cupcake Brake, Bruno’s Pizza and Backyard Bar & Grill will have a variety of food available to attendees. Barile Landscaping is donating a shrub which will be planted near the pond and students from the Child Development Center will be performing.
There is no cost to attend the Earth Day Celebration. Anyone who walks, rides their bike or uses public transportation to attend will be entered into a drawing for a ShopRite gift card.
