Enfield Businesses Asked to Partner with the Town of Enfield to Promote Plastic Bag and Film Packaging Recycling
The Town of Enfield is reaching out to Enfield businesses to help them promote plastic recyclables (bags/film/wrap). Several local retailers including Big Y, ShopRite, Stop & Shop and Target currently collect plastic bags and film packaging and have collection containers in their stores. All businesses that have collection bins are encouraged to register their business at www.filmrecycling.org. Businesses who are interested in collecting plastic bags and film packaging can go to www.filmrecycling.org for information on how to get started.
Clean and dry retail bags, newspaper sleeves, case wraps, produce bags and bread bags, air pillows, dry cleaning bags and napkin, paper towel, bathroom tissue and diaper wrap packaging are accepted in store drop-off containers. Frozen food bags, prewashed salad mix bags and degradable bags are not accepted. Recycled plastic bags and wraps can become new packaging or durable home building products.

Information will be distributed, in the Reminder to all Enfield residents, to educate them on what can be recycled in the plastic bag and film packaging recycling containers, as well as a list of participating locations. Details about the program will also be on the Town’s website, E-TV and the Town’s recycling trucks.
