Edith G. Prague, Commissioner, Connecticut Department on Aging, Honorary Chairperson of ITNNorthCentral Connecticut™, Annual "Walk for Dignified Rides for Seniors and the Visually Impaired"

Edith G. Prague, Commissioner, Connecticut Department on Aging, is the Honorary Chairperson of the ITNNorthCentral Connecticut™, annual “Walk for Dignified Rides for Seniors and the Visually Impaired” The Walk will take place at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The event is slated to kick-off at 10:00 a.m.; registration opens at 9:00 a.m.

            Ms. Prague, at 87 years old and vibrant as ever, has been an advocate for senior citizens for decades. Her experience includes Senator, Connecticut State Senate, Representative, Connecticut State House of Representatives, Co-Chair, Select Committee on Aging and Delegate, White House Conference on Aging. Prague has been extremely influential in her advocacy for seniors.

 Margaret Smith-Hale, Executive Director of ITNNorthCentral Connecticut™ commented, “I am so pleased Edith agreed to be Honorary Chairperson of the Walk. Edith’s participation will bring the Walk to a new level, showing the community we serve the importance of providing this service for seniors.”

“Walk for Dignified Rides for Seniors and the Visually Impaired” provides the much needed funding to insure ITNNorthCentralConnecticut™, continues the commitment to have available dignified transportation for seniors and the visually impaired. Trained drivers, provide rides for any purpose, including medical and hair appointments, errands and lunch or dinner dates. It allows seniors to continue living an independent, connected life on their terms. ITN’s service area includes the towns of Bloomfield, East Granby, East Windsor, Enfield, Granby, Somers, South Windsor, Suffield, Windsor and Windsor Locks.
