Celebrate the Last Day of School at Friendly’s

ENFIELD—Families and individuals who celebrate the end of the school year at Friendly’s Restaurant on June 19th will help send more Enfield kids to summer camp.  Friendly’s will host a Family Fun Day fundraiser at its Elm Street location to benefit the ERfC Children’s Summer Escape Fund.

Amanda Mendez, ERfC Volunteer & Community Relations Coordinator said diners who present an event voucher to their server will have 20% of their guest check donated to the scholarship fund. Vouchers can be printed online at www.erfc.us.

Mendez said the fundraiser will give an opportunity for more Enfield students to attend Summer Escape camp.  “We have several children on the waiting list to attend camp and we appreciate all the community support,” she added.

Last summer over 58% of the children enrolled received scholarships to attend Summer Escape. “For many students, this is the only opportunity for a camp experience,” she said.

Summer Escape, a six-week full-day summer camp held at JFK Middle School, offers recreational, cultural, academic, and enrichment activities for kids entering grades 1-8 in fall 2014. Summer Escape camp includes busing, breakfast, snacks, lunch and a weekly field trip to the beach.

Event vouchers will be accepted at Friendly’s during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Patrons who arrive at Friendly’s between 5 pm and 7 pm with their voucher can enter a chance to win a $25 Friendly’s Gift Card.

Mendez said, “Vouchers must be printed from our website at www.erfc.us and will not be available at the restaurant and will only be accepted on June 19th.
