Autism and Behavioral Health Disorders in our Youth

In our contemporary society with all of its distractions and minimal family time, the challenge of raising happy and well-adjusted children is further intensified when overlying health issues are evidenced.

Today’s media coverage provides repeat sound bites on mental illness headlines , but locally Susan Regan, Host for CT Valley Views provides a closer view on two major societal issues: Autism and behavioral diversities that include peer stress, drug addiction and physical ailments.

See highlights from two interviews addressing these complex topics with Donna Swanson, Founder and Executive Director of Focus Center for Autism in Canton, CT and Dr. Surita Rao, Chairman and Director of Behavioral Health Services at St. Francis Care to discuss some of the most prevalent factors affecting the mental well-being of the young members of our society.
