Obituary: William “Bill” A. Woods

William “Bill” A. Woods, 56, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Friday (April 20, 2012) surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on January 7, 1956 in Hartford, CT, son of Mildred (Jones) Woods and the late William Woods and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. He was a self-employed painting contractor and entrepreneur for many years. He was an avid card player, fisherman, and chess player Bill also enjoyed driving around town visiting friends and family.



Bill leaves to morn his passing his loving mother Mildred Woods of Enfield, his beloved siblings; Charles Woods of Enfield, Raymond Hudson, Jr. of W. Springfield, MA, Susan Wadlegger of Springfield, MA and Jolie Cartagena of Windsor Locks, his many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides his father he was predeceased by his brother Richard Hudson. Bill’s family would especially like to thank his sister-in-law, Nicole Woods, niece Ula Wadlegger and nephew, Mark Hudson for their unselfish and devoted time in helping to care for Bill the past few months.

Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday (April 27, 2012) from 5 to 8 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Memorial Service with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating. Interment services per request is for his family and close friends on Saturday (April 28, 2012) at 12:00 pm in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield.

Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the New Life Community Church P.O. Box 377 Enfield, CT 06083-0377.
